Indications/Uses
Adjunct to levodopa/benserazide or levodopa/carbidopa in patients w/ Parkinson's disease.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 200 mg tab taken w/ each levodopa/dopa-decarboxylase inhibitor dose. Max: 200 mg 10 times daily.

Overdosage
View Encapon 200 overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pheochromocytoma. History of NMS &/or non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis. Concomitant use w/ non-selective MAOI, selective monoamine oxidase (MAO)-A inhibitors + MAO-B inhibitors. Hepatic impairment.

Special Precautions
Orthostatic HTN/syncope, diarrhea/colitis, rhabdomyolysis, falling asleep during activities of daily living w/ or w/o somnolence, NMS, dyskinesia, compulsive behaviors/impaired impulse control. Patients w/ ischemic heart disease. Not recommended in childn <18 yr.

Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, urine discoloration, fatigue, increased sweating, fall, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, constipation, dyskinesia, insomnia, hallucinations, confusion, nightmares, ischemic heart disease events.

Drug Interactions
Increased risk for bleeding w/ warfarin. Concomitant use w/ medicinal products metabolized by catechol-O-methyl-transferase (COMT) (eg, rimiterol, isoprenaline, adrenaline, noradrenaline, dopamine, dobutamine, α-methyldopa, apomorphine & paroxetine); chelates w/ Fe; drugs bound w/ human albumin binding site II (eg, diazepam & ibuprofen).
